BC: What inspired you to create BEAAST?
LEASH: Growing up, I was constantly bullied, ostracized, and taken advantage of due to my features, size, and being an introvert. At 29 years old, I finally have the confidence instilled within me to go for my dreams and goals, regardless of the obstacles I face. I want to encourage children who are just like me to embrace their flaws and gifts alike.
BC: Where was your talent developed?
LEASH: My talents started out in music production, which was honed daily at home in Queens, NY. I was 14 when I discovered my gift for playing music by ear via piano. From there, I discovered my passion for filming, when I'd film and edit my family functions. It wasn't until 2012 that I decided to purchase my first HD camera off of a friend from college. From there, I learned about editing and filming by watching YouTube tutorials, practicing in the field. As of 2015, I started writing songs for other artists, and then decided to embark on a music career as an artist of my own. And the rest is history.
BC: What products are offered?
LEASH: We are currently just offering dad hats and snapbacks, but we will venture off into t-shirts, shorts, phone cases, etc.
BC: Who do you see wearing your brand?
LEASH: I see young music artists such as Chris Rivers (Big Pun's son) as well as older hip-hop pioneers such as Roxanne Shante wearing my brand, and representing what it stands for 100%!

On December 8, 2016 Resorz Media and Friends were on a mission to give back to Haiti in STYLE. We at well from the kitchen of Mikes Corner Deli & Fashion Addicts! The stage was set for Unexplained Nature, Handsum's Closet & Too Cute Couture! Take a look at some of the designer profiles!
Unexplained Nature, where freedom and clothing collide! For many, fashion is a form of expression. For us, fashion is art and emotion. The world as we know it today often lacks originality. Different fashion trends and fads are created and worn religiously. Then, those ideas are dumped and the cycle continues. Therefore, we have put personality in every stitch of our garments to give you what you deserve: Creativity. We thank you for showing our pieces some love and we have worked endlessly to give you taste and affordability. We hope you enjoy our pieces as much as we enjoyed making them.
Creative and extraordinary are the words that best describes me. When I was a little girl I always knew that I had a special talent that made me different from my siblings. My friends and teachers always said that I have a creative mind, but I wasn’t sure how to put that skill into good use. That’s when I decided to set out on a creative journey. I’ve tried many different activities to find my “black girl magic” such as: poetry, story writing, dance and art, but none sparked my interested. Although I am a jack of all trades nothing stuck to my soul. As I got older I started to advance in my sketches, and with each sketch, I started to become more detailed in my design and started to perfect my craft. With each stroke of my color pencil I got excited and compelled to draw more. I figured out that this was my special talent that made me different from the rest. This aspire me to begin my own line, called “BERROYAL”. I want to showcase my different designs all around the world to show young girls that you don’t have to only be beautiful but feel beautiful. I cannot really say this is the end of my life story, but the beginning of a new journey into a new world of fashion frenzy and fashion dreams. I hope you can see vibrant colors and a life story through the textures of my drawings.“I love fashion and am not afraid to deviate from the norm.”
Handsum's Closet was born in the heart of NYC. It was orginally called Handsum Hustler, but Damon wanted to expand the brand beyond just a simple street hustler with good looks. This company is established to bring positive reinforcement to our youth through fashion. Handsum stands for Hands = the Sum of your work. We have to work.We have to Hustle. Damon wanted to provide high fashion clothing for the young Black & Latino communites that encourage them to value themselves, let alone life. Handsum's Closet has been coined with phrases and images that uplift the black and brown people, urging them to cherish life. From street style to the runway, Handsum's Closet is only in the infantile stages of it's growth and we will see so much more!

Of course we heard it all before! Women are not ready to be president of the United States Of America! But, Queen Elizabeth has ruled for how long? We've also heard "Donald Trump is just playing a money laundering game so that he can pave the way for his best friends, The Clintons, back into the White House." Honestly, this election year has most Americans stumped on who to vote for.
I began watching the electoral debates in my Msgr Scanlan High School classrooms, many moons ago. We were bored to death by them but understood the importance of watching them. We learned about what the candidates 'intended' on doing to better represent the American people. We also had our own debates within the classroom to prove our stance on who should win the elections.....based on facts!
Now of days, we have electoral debates that consist solely on how one candidate can dig up as much dirt on the other and share with the masses. But, please explain to me how this is helping the future of our nation understand what it is to be American. Our children are bombarded with the senseless police killings of our black and brown CITIZENS, living in impoverished communities that also have to deal with world threats aside from territorial gang wars, children and teachers trying to stay above water in the new Common Core Standards of education created by corporate America and a slew of more nonsense to deal with on a daily basis.
I know I don't speak for myself when I ask the following questions: What happen to God in America? What happened to putting the children and people first? What happened to candidates addressing issues within the foundation of our nation? What happened to creating the 'Land of the Free, Home of the Brave'? What happened to discussing policies that will advance our nation from the weakest link to the strongest? What happened to moving forward as a people -- 'One Nation, Under GOD, Indivisible with Liberty & Justice For ALL'? What happened to programs that encourage literacy and understanding? What happened to funding for the arts and sciences for all students, not just the privileged? What happened to.....you get the point?
I don't want to hear about Hilary's private emails. I don't want to hear about Trump's tax returns. We already know what kind of blood suckers we are dealing with. How do we, the majority affect change in our nation? We VOTE! But not just on 11/8/16....Every election there is from community & state level to presidency has a purpose. The most important elections precede the presidential election. I was saddened to see so few people at the polls on 9/13/16. But, the very same people that didn't show will wonder why they didn't get the new school grant for books or shut down the funding for night club next to the church.
Many have come and told me that their vote doesn't count. The only time it doesn't is when you don't vote. Period. Point. Blank. Enough of my rant. Listen, all I'm saying is read the facts, not just on the social media, not from the news, but from the actual candidates' documentation. But if you should use the web one site I like is http://votesmart.org/ due to their non-partisan stance. Another site is http://www.politics1.com/p2016.htm for their full access to candidates' profiles across the web. Educate yourself and then VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!
6 Steps Before The Lord @ The Kids Breaking League pt 2
Programs like City Bike, strict health and food regulations & other programs have made great strides to help become part of the solution in the fight against obesity in NYC. These solutions are costly. So then we revisit the question of "What's being done to help those living in lower income housing reach healthy goals?" Obesity is still the number two killer to New Yorkers --only second to tobacco.
We are in the fight against obesity & want to promote healthy & holistic living. This is where Body Movin' Festival comes in. A fun family oriented festival full of physical activities and healthy food. Families will be able to come out and enjoy a Celebrity Volleyball Game & participate in activities such as tug of war, bobbing for apples, family yoga, knockout basketball, Zumba classes, double dutch competitions & more! We also have chefs that will prepare healthy food choices while facilitating workshops on healthy eating options. And let's not forget the MUSIC!!! Live performances from well known artist will grace the stage at this one day event. Join us to raise money to continue the fight for a healthy NYC & America!!!
Jamaican performer Marion Hall, also known as Lady Saw, has turned a new chapter in her life, and now she goes by the name of Minister Marion Hall. She made her religious transformation in December 2015.
“I realize my calling is to minister to broken women,” said Hall in a recent interview. “So, I made a song for women who have been raped, or forced into prostitution or illegal drug use, but somehow, they are still standing here today. I am a victim of rape, and Jesus took me through it. I was battered and bruised. I could have been dead, but I am still standing here today.” Currently, Hall’s new Gospel single" I Had Jesus", a song dedicated to all women who have been mentally and physically abused, is helping to inspire women that have been broken. And on the eighth of July, Hall will be releasing “ When God Speaks”, an album she hopes will touch many people.
Minister Marion Hall was born in Galina, a district in the parish of Saint Mary, where she was a tomboy, and whatever the boys were doing; they had to contend with her as a competitor. Hall started out from a very humble beginning, and as a result, she earned her keep way before any child is supposed to. To help make ends meet, Hall sold food and homemade artifacts to tourists on the roadside, and at the age of 15, she named herself Lady Saw, after the famous Jamaican DJ Tenor Saw, whose style she emulated. Now she is recognized as the first Jamaican female DJ to win a Grammy Award, and also for being a certified triple-platinum artist.
