The finest clothing made is a person's skin, but, of course, society demands something more than this. - Mark Twain Amy Delson Jewelry is truly an expression of love. As a female jewelry designer, Amy understands women. She knows women are capable of expressing their love levels 'Lovels' through their creative choices, otherwise known as accessories. Amy designs to bring out and crown the powerful, feminine, artistic and playful sides of a woman. She combines gemstones, crystals, art glass, sterling silver, gold plating, brass and copper to manifest her creations. Amy Delson Jewelry collaborated with Studio 6th Sense during the Nolcha FW 2013 runway event. Studio 6th Sense is the artistic creation from designer Stephen Goudeau. Stephen believes we are blessed with a sixth sense that applies the sense of style and uniqueness of each woman that is illustrated in their way of life. His canvas for creating his brand is the contour of a woman's body. Check out Amy and Stephen's answers to SCP's questions below: 1. When did you decide handmade jewelry was how you were going to change the world of fashion? When did you decide that women's designs was how you were going to change the world of fashion? Amy: When I saw that I was getting compliments every time I wore one of my own pieces, and so many others I'd created custom pieces for shared the same experience, I knew that I had to give more women out there the same opportunity. It is a joy to create beautiful jewelry that plays a pivotal role in women's personal expression. Stephen: That's still a question mark in my head. To be honest, I've always been a creative individual you could say. I feel true fashion is an expression and imagination of a designers eyes of how the world should look, whether in disagreement or not. With saying that, true art is very important to me. I knew that in order to begin my creative niche, I wanted to start with one of God’s most precious creations, the woman. I believe critiquing and complimenting the figure of a woman is very important. 2. Why did you choose Nolcha Fashion Week 2013? Amy: I was excited to have an international platform in which I could have my jewelry featured two ways: on the runway in collaboration with a clothing designer and in exhibition at the fashion lounge. The time was right for me to jump in! Stephen: Nolcha does a fantastic job in supporting upcoming designers. I did a lot of research and saw how supportive they were in helping designers to grow and network. It was then I decided to give Nolcha Fashion week a try and I have never regretted that decision. 3. How did the runway partnership come about with Sixth Sense Fashion? How did the runway partnership come about with Amy Delson Jewelry? Amy: I'm thrilled that I was partnered with Studio 6th Sense for our runway collaboration. I had been approached by the organizers of Nolcha Fashion Week about participating this season, so I expressed my desire to be present both on the runway and in the fashion lounge. They forwarded photos of my latest work to the designers scheduled to show on the runway to assess their interest, and within minutes, Stephen Goudeau, the designer behind Studio 6th Sense, said he wanted to work with me. He'd fallen in love with a photo of my wide Tatiana Cuff bracelet on a model. We spoke on the phone, since he is based in Texas and I'm in NYC, and he emailed me some photos of his new collection. We were on the same page immediately with our common vision of a strong feminine woman. Stephen: I met Amy at Nolcha Fashion Week in September. I noticed her detail for jewelry pieces and I just knew I needed to collaborate with her. Her creation of the wrist bangles was the key accessory for my Fall line “Eternal Submission”. 4. What advice do you give to the future of fashion? Amy: I say, follow your instincts but always keep your eyes and ears open for stimulation and new perspectives. Having a strong inner voice is just as important as being able to translate your vision to the world. Stephen: No matter what happens, follow your creative niche. If we hold back for fear of how the world may interpret our creations, we are doing the fashion world no justice. Believe in yourself and work hard, the rest will follow. There are many of us that are bursting with creativity but we allow reality to suffocate us. Below you will find some of the photos of Amy Delson Jewelry and Studio 6th Sense at Nolcha FW 2013! ![]() www.yotelnewyork.com More emerging designers have relied on Nolcha FW to elevate their creative platforms. Nolcha FW 2013 was a two day event. The first day consisted of 3 runway shows at Pier 59 Studio and the second day consisted of the Media Lounge at YOTEL New York. Nolcha FW's events wouldn't be complete without the Media Lounge. The Nolcha Media Lounge is where designers and media professionals can mix and mingle without the rush of the red carpet 'frenzy'. We were able to get interviews with desigers, enjoy a light brunch and be pampered with hair and makeup sponsored by Rusk. SCP's MP, the no makeup queen, actually had her makeup done by Daniella Navaro. SCP had the opportunity to speak with the presenting designers. One designer, in particular, Lawrence Leyderman of House of Horology, left a significant impression with his watches. They were luxury watches for the everyday male. The most unique part of the watches was the back of face. The back of the face of the watch was an imprint of the company logo which keeps the authentication of the designs. His collection can be found at his boutique located at 193 Prince Stl,, NY, NY 10012. Another designer that has left a lasting impression and returned for another year to Nolcha FW is Eric of The Art of EMJ. His line consists of textured bow ties. He has used leather, fur and textured patterns to make bow ties stand out in the luxury fashion industry. The ties are able to be worn by both males and females. View and shop Eric's bow ties via www.theartofemj.com. Listen below to some brief words from Eric about his creations! Photos courtesy of CCaicosheart of CCaiosheart.tumblr.com ![]() Fashion designers of late have favored designing fashions for one gender: male or female. It is rare that a designer is able to design a complete line for both male and female. NEODANDI HOUSE OF COUTURE not only broke this rule, but in its duality used the imagination of colors from a somewhat spiritual place. The show featured 35 women's and 7 men's looks. Fashion designer NiiLartey De Osu's use of color ignites the form of imagination. This was shown in the cut of his fabrics as well as his runway presentation. The runway concept was not your traditional walk the straightaway runway routine. The models were to express the colorful imagination of the clothing. The square runway gave the audience the ambiance of complete artistry from the imagination of the designer. Designer NiiLartey De Osu truly brought art and humanity back to high fashion with this 8 year old label with his NYFW 2013 collection. We can look forward to more of his colorful expression of imagination in this fabulous world we call fashion! For more information about the label or desiger, visit www.neodandi.com. Jason Wu dressed FLOTUS Michelle Obama for not one, but two inaugurations and his name has set fir to the fashion scene ever since! This Taiwanese-Canadian now lives in NYC and has his new line creating such a buzz for MB Fashion Week 2013. Jason will launch his new beauty line in collaboration with Lacombe as his next venture very soon!
Another designer to watch out for is Victoria Beckham. She has always been posh as in her roll with the Spice Girls, and has recently spearheaded into fashion! Her line is sure to turn heads and make serious fashion statements! Other designers participating in the 2013 Fashion Week Events that presented a Mozart-Alfred Hitchcock air are Tadashi Shoji, Carmen Marc Valvo, Badgley Mishka, DKNY, Tracy Reese and NIcole Miller. SCP looks forward to seeing the up and coming designers at NOLCHA and SMALL BOUTIQUE FASHION WEEK events! We also have a surprise backstage review!!! Expect more detailed reports, and of course photos, of the events taking place for Fashion Week 2013! KKDT! ![]() So, I'm sitting at my office and editing my site (such a grueling process) and noticed I had a very boring day! I walk get over to my stylist and we start to hash out our next wardrobe options and I receive a text from a newly acquired friend in the business. Who? Billie Mitchell owner of one of the top PR firms in the USA! Billie and I met over a year ago at Kemba Walker's birthday party. The invitation was definitely received with excitement from me and the SCP staff. We knew were going to be among the best of the best for a full evening of luxury and fun. Needless to say, our presumptions of the event were matched with the exquisite fashion, champagne and RED CARPET! Billie had A List Entertainment's very own Isreal Haggan host the party of elites in the business. Among the elite were Tylik Hill of Vocab Magazine, SoundBoy, Jerseylicous, Mike Boogie and James 'Cool Breeze' Gray. There were two musical performances with the stage adorned by painted models. the champagne flowed throughout the night along with a Las Vegas raffle! Check out Raine Angel Photography for more pictures of the night and see the magic for yourself! KKDT

This event has been a long time waiting as we haven't seen anything from LSM since February 2012 at our coveted Annual Fashion Week events. The doors were set to open at 7pm but the crowd was already there at 5pm. People were waiting on line to see the newest Spring trends from SARAR and LISBY LORIIS. Sarar is located in 5 continents, 43 countries and NY has 2 locations in NYC. The anticipation was not only for the spectators but also for aspiring designers, models, stylists, bloggers and the Sarar Group. Sarar debuted their spring menswear on the runway. Ladies we have to refer to our 2012 SPRING-SUMMER Sarar booklet for a look at womenswear. We were then graced with an energetic performance by ANGELINA LAVO! She performed two hits that kept our hearts pumping with excitement for her next album and the next designer! Lisby Loriis' 2012 Spring Collection came with an array of surprise and decadence. She was able to pull the elegance of the 20's and 30's into modern day play and business for women of all ages. Her pieces came in neutral with a contrast play on pastels. Feathers and geometric shapes as well as fine textile made her dresses flow and show a bit of a woman's figure. If you weren't able to make it, I have a few pictures below to for your pleasure! Enjoy and see you at the next red carpet event! KKDT!! |
