It’s Thursday, March 28th, 2019 in Brooklyn NYC …. be careful, you could get whacked! MsPenny Saintil and her public relations company, Music Speaks Power P.R., organized a smashing event that brought out all of the top entertainers and media outlets to catch the #MobMentality vibe in motion.
The creator of the show, Isis Djata, along with cast members, held a pre-launch party event at Legends Bar & Grill in Marine Park, Brooklyn, to take us on a tour of “Mob Mentality” and featured an exclusive preview of the series’ newest trailer. Djata, a New York native and law school graduate of West African descent, also wrote and directed “Mob Mentality,” which is set in Staten Island, New York. We also got to discuss the “Let’s Make A Mob Show” crowd-funding campaign. The goal is to raise $50,000 to finish filming the pilot episode. We were able to purchase original Mob Mentality paraphernalia and have one on one Q&A in this family affair of a night! We learned that the show centers around Carmine “Car” Ponte Jr. (played by Jack S. – even more of a hottie in person!), the son of a reputed mobster who sets out to rebuild his life after his release from a federal prison. But a chain of events immediately thrusts him back into a life of crime. The only crime was how many hearts Jack stole on Thursday night. And let’s not for get the rest of the cast that swooned the crowd with smiles, hugs, kisses and in song! Yes, Jack C. blessed us with a Roadhouse favorite and he had the entire place foot stomping. And we can’t forget the memorable performance by Lea Robinson of First Family of Hip Hop, who also makes an appearance on the show! In one of the many dear heart to hearts she had with the Mob Mentality Family, Djata said the timing is perfect for a new mob show, and the public will devour what the program has to offer. Following the grit and loyalty struggles from ‘The Godfather Series’ to the ‘Sapranos’, Djata says “This is the time for Mob Mentality,”. “We waited over ten years for the next great American mob show, and Mob Mentality is that show.” “What makes Mob Mentality different,” she continued? “You never seen a show where you have the lead actor as a psychologist by day, and a mobster by night. I’m the first one to do it.” The show’s storyline was so compelling to co-star Mike Taverna — who’s also a promising professional wrestler by the name of Mike Verna — that he couldn’t resist auditioning for it. So, you have a guy moonlighting at night as a killer, and by day he’s talking to troubled teens. I think this is something viewers are going to want to see. They’re going to think it’s interesting.” But, wait, there’s more! A classic Italian spread was catered by Seraphin Catering and hit the sweet, herbal flavorful spots of everyone’s taste buds. The house DJ made sure the dancing vibe was in the air as we all joined the great Mob Mentality Family! The sponsored liquor poured, the cameras flashed on Phoenix Media Groups CEO Chris Phoenix, Jesse Brown of Hustle in Brooklyn & Black Enterprise’s Selena Hill. Even though there was at least $100k in giveaways and Swag de Rueville provided by S Cubed Productions, L.L.C., some family secrets are to the grave! Had to be there to see if you’re worthy of the Mob Mentality Family, unless you caught a hint of the vibe via NY1 News, and other major media outlets.
